The phrase "Nice Try" has always been like nails on a chalkboard for me.

Whether it's while playing a game or in my achievements, I find it to be the most degrading form of sympathy.

It's not that I'm opposed to receiving sympathy....But if I do something wrong or dumb, I'd rather have someone grimace or laugh with me-- share in whatever feelings I'm having in that moment-- than to have to accept their counteractive, band-aid empathy.
